SISTO

SISTO is a solution that allows the dematerialisation of data sheets used in all phases of emergency vehicle intervention. Thanks to the system, healthcare workers can access key information quickly and offer patients timely and efficient assistance.

SISTO, as well as allowing the dematerialization of documentation on board emergency vehicles, enables data real time data sharing between all parties involved. By facilitating communications between the operators present on the emergency vehicle, the operations center and the healthcare facilities, it allows for better provision of the intervention service and a considerable reduction in rescue times.

To date, the system is in use on all emergency vehicles in the Sicily Region (IT) and has more than 1000 interventions daily.

How it works

The patient or user who requires medical intervention calls the emergency number

The operator answers the emergency call and uploads the initial diagnosis information received by phone

The operator also checks which vehicle is free for the intervention and sends a notification on the tablet supplied with the vehicle

The operators on the emergency vehicle receive the destination address of the intervention and information on the patient's status directly on the tablet

SISTO uses the GPS system to identify the best route (to the address indicated by the patient and, subsequently, to the healthcare facility)

The system relays pre-diagnosis information to the healthcare facility to ensure that the patient receives timely and adequate treatment
